RAE Association.
Australian Army engineers - the sappers - have provided a significant range of support to both combat operations and peacetime engineer work. 1 Field Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (1 FD SQN RAE) has a remarkable history of contributing to combat operations and peacetime engineering work commencing with World War 1. 1914-1918. Check out our "History Section" for a mix of interesting, and at times, surprising information on the organisation and development of Australia's Army Engineers.
Remembering & Enjoying the Camaraderie of Sapper Mates
Every two years 1 FD SQN GP RAE Association organises a reunion dinner and memorial service. Any person who served in 1 FD SQN RAE and its associated sub-units such as the RAE Support Squadron/Troop and RAEME Workshops are invited to attend, together with their partner.
In addition, we will be honouring the Supreme Sacrifice of every Sapper lost to conflicts since 1945.
